In 1983,
Most Reverend Thomas V. Daily and Paul J.Birmingham
established the St. Anthony's Scholarship Fund,
later to be renamed The Catholic Schools Foundation
to raise money to assist needy students with tuition
assistance to Catholic schools. Twenty years later,
CSF has expanded thirty-fold with the support
of donors and active members from all sections
of the community - business, academia, private
and religious. Since 1991, Peter S. Lynch of Fidelity
Investments, Inc. has led a committed team of
professional community leaders in expanding the
organization and its programs.
Such programs as The
Inner-City Scholarship Fund, The
Inner-City Scholarship Fund Professionals' Team,
Catholic
Schools - Computer and Network, The
Counseling Program, and The
Neighborhood Schools Fund have been instrumental
for in reaching new heights in service of Catholic
school students.
As The Catholic Schools Foundation grows, so too
do the children whose lives are bettered by this
assistance. This is only made possible through
the generous support of its contributors.
