Applying for a Scholarship from The Catholic Schools Foundation, Inc.

The Catholic Schools Foundation, Inc./ Inner-City Scholarship Fund raises scholarship monies for needy students attending primary and secondary parochial schools in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. Working in conjunction with the archdiocesan Department of Education (Catholic School Office) and the schools, the CSF sets a funding level for supported schools, and establishes application and award guidelines.

Using its funding level and the guidelines, each school manages its own scholarship application process. Each school has a committee that reviews scholarship applications and communicates each student’s financial aid package.

Since the application review process is conducted at the school level and because the schools may have other sources of financial aid available, students’ families should inquire of the principal(s) at the school(s) the student wishes to attend. Application materials, requirements and deadlines are provided by each funded school and may vary from school to school.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Where do I get an application?
A: Contact the principal at the school the student wishes to attend.

Q: What is the deadline?
A: Deadlines vary from school to school so please contact the school the student wishes to attend.

Q: When will I hear about the award decision?
A: Awards are communicated by each school following their local process. The timing of final decisions varies by school.

Q: Is my child eligible?
A: If this child attends a funded school, eligibility is based on need. Scholarship assistance is awarded without regard to race, color, gender, national origin or creed. Your child does not need to be Catholic to be eligible.

Q: What schools are funded?
A: Most Catholic elementary, middle or junior high school, and high schools in the Archdiocese of Boston are funded.

Q: What if my situation has changed since the application deadline?
A: If your family situation has changed significantly since the scholarship application was filed, you may still be eligible for emergency assistance. Please check with your child’s school.

Q: Is this the only source of financial aid available?
A: Depending on your child and on each school, other sources of scholarship support may be available. Please check with the school.
