The 6th Annual Back to School Cup
The 6th Annual Back to School Cup was held on September 10th at Hopkinton Country Club, drawing
88 golfers from all over the state for a fun-filled day to benefit the Inner-City Scholarship Fund
(ICSF). Guests were greeted by students from St. Tarcisius Elementary School in Framingham, an
ICSF-supported school. Hosted by the ICSF Professionals Team, the event featured lunch, 18 holes,
and dinner as well as a silent and live auction.
Generous sponsorships totaling close to $16,000, including our two Luncheon Sponsors, Millenium
Information & Records Management and Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky & Popeo P.C., helped to
raise the bar on this year’s event and surpass last year’s proceeds. In addition, the silent auction
provided some friendly bidding wars and together with the live auction, brought in over $8,000 in
support. Proceeds of over $29,000 were raised from the golf tournament and will provide financial
assistance and educational opportunities to many students in need.
Special thanks go out to both co-chairs, Eric LaPlaca and Steve Popeo as well as the entire golf
committee for all their hard work to make the event such a success. Additionally, our gratitude goes
out to all of our other sponsors: BioMed Realty Trust; Boyle Transportation; D’Arcy Johnson Shober
& Hassel, P.C.; Employee Family Protection; Gill, Devine & White P.C.; The Chris Good Family;
Grossman Marketing Group; Insource Services, Inc.; Leisman Insurance Agency, Inc.; MD Masonry; Morrissey,
Hawkins & Lynch – Attorneys at Law; NHS Print; NSTAR: Pinnacle Financial Group; Pixel Bridge; Pure
Energy Solutions; Richard F. Hickey, CPA; Wachovia Wealth Management; and Jeff Yoke of Adventures in
Advertising – ProVision.
Prizes were given out to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams as well as the men’s and women’s longest
drive and closest to the pin contest winners. Congratulations to all and we hope to see you out on the
course again next year!
