An Introduction to CS-CAN
The exponential growth of technology has caused the computer and the Internet to become central factors in the everyday work environment. The Catholic Schools – Computers and Networks (CS-CAN) project grew out of the knowledge that education is becoming more dependent on computer technology. However, Catholic schools have been falling behind in providing access to computers for students. The lack of computer resources at school is a bigger problem for low-income families who do not have the means to buy computers for their home. This puts underprivileged students at a disadvantage in pursuing higher education as well as in the job market.

CS-CAN has undertaken a comprehensive initiative to provide equipment to all our schools allowing students and teachers to access libraries and documents online, conduct classes over the Internet, and link schools to programs throughout the world.

The goal is to install networked computers in each of the 177 schools throughout the Archdiocese. Additionally, the project will train both teachers and students to apply technology to the learning process. Click on the link to access the CS-CAN website.
