| With the recognition
that children who need tuition assistance may attend
schools outside of the inner-city, The Catholic
Schools Foundation allocates funds for 56 neighborhood
schools within the Archdiocese of Boston. Application
for scholarships is made through the local Catholic
school.
Urban neighborhoods such as Arlington, Beverly,
Danvers, Dedham, Gloucester, Hudson, Newton, West
Roxbury and South Boston receive assistance. Currently,
1,145 elementary school students and 673 secondary
school students are receiving tuition assistance
for a total of 1,818 scholarships.
