On this page, you'll
find actual excerpts of letters from students
who have benefited from an Inner-City Scholarship.
These success stories are the best way to see
how a generous contribution can better the lives
of many children. Here is a sampling of their
letters:
"My scholarship not only helps me, but also
three of my eight brothers and sisters who attend
Catholic school in Boston. We came from Spain
so that my parents could do missionary work for
Hispanic immigrants in the United States. Despite
the financial strain, our parents decided to transfer
us into Catholic schools. Inner-City Scholarships
made this possible. My brothers and I really appreciate
the opportunity to receive a quality education."
"I am a seventh grader in Brockton, MA. I am
very grateful for the help of ICSF. My parents are
going through a divorce and it is a hard time for
my family and me. My scholarship makes it possible
for me to attend Catholic school and lessens the
stress for my mother during this difficult time."
"I live in Medford and have an older brother
and a younger sister. My father is out of work because
of a brain tumor that requires radiation and chemotherapy
treatment. The scholarship from ICSF allows me to
attend a Catholic school. I love animals, and when
I grow up, I would like to be a veterinarian. Someday
I would like to help others in need the way that
you have helped my family."
"Thank you for helping to pay for my tuition
here at St. Margaret School. I love being a big
girl going to school learning new things. I like
to draw and paint and read books but mostly I love
playing with my friends."
-- Kylie, Lowell
"My family emigrated from Cambodia in the 1980s.
My goals are to finish high school and go on to
become a pediatrician. With generous people like
you in the world, kids like me can go to great schools
and get the best out of our life. Thank you for
making a difference."
-- Vicheth, Lowell
"My education is the most important thing to
me. Your contribution helps me stay here at Cathedral
High School."
-- Andrew, Boston
"I am grateful to have my wonderful and loving
parents who want to send me to a Catholic School.
Sometimes in life, people come along who will help
us as you have helped me. I am fortunate to have
someone to help my family pay for my tuition because
there are six children including me. If it weren't
for you, I wouldn't be graduating from a Catholic
school such as this one. You have touched my heart
deep down inside and brightened my day. Thank you."
-- Pamela, Malden
“Thank you very much for my scholarship. This
helps my mom let me and my little sister go to
St. Benedict’s Little Flower School in Somerville,
Massachusetts.”
-- Marissa, Somerville
