CSF Stellar Student: Mando Binet

CSF Stellar Student: Mando Binet

Josearmando (Mando) Binet is a senior at Central Catholic High School and a CSF Scholar. On top of serving his school community as the CCHS student body president, Mando won the D2 Massachusetts State Wrestling Championship for his weight class last week.

What do you love most about attending Central Catholic? What makes this school special to you?

I love being able to be surrounded by so many good people. The school is so special to me because it tries to promote a positive message to all of its students. We are taught a lot about being good people and loving and respecting human life. I am a big believer in loving others and helping them achieve their goals and making the world a better place.

What thing or things have you accomplished that you are most proud of?

I am so proud of the development and the changes I’ve gone through during these four years at Central Catholic spiritually, physically and intellectually. When I came into Central Catholic my goals were based on my success and focused only on me. My views have evolved and now my goals and focus are on the well being of those around me. I really just want to be able to help everyone and show love to everyone.

Physically, I think I came into Central Catholic weighing at about 138 pounds and will be leaving at around 200 pounds, and now ready with the knowledge, confidence and skills to become the first in my family to earn a college degree.

Lastly, I am proud of my wrestling achievements and  the state title I was able to win this year individually and be part of a state championship team at Central Catholic.

How has being a CSF Scholar impacted your time as a high school student?

Well, if it wasn’t for the CSF Scholarship CCHS awarded me, I would not be attending Central Catholic and looking forward to and ready for college. I am aware of how fortunate I was to receive this scholarship and will always be grateful. I can not wait to be in a position in life in which I can help other young people receive a Catholic high school education at Central Catholic.

What are your plans for post-high school?

Post-high school, I want to keep showing love and helping others for the rest of my life.  That is what is most important to me. In addition, I am excited to be heading to a 4 year college and be the first to graduate in my family. I want to continue to lift weights and enjoy bodybuilding because that is one of my passions. I want to gain more weight, train and hopefully compete as a collegiate wrestler.

CSF is so proud to support the education of Josearmando and so many other students in the Greater Boston area.
