$1,500 to $3,500 – THE INNER-CITY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Catholic Schools Foundation awards grants to Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Boston and provides the guidelines for distributing award money to qualifying students. Each school manages its own scholarship application process and typically, schools have a committee that reviews scholarship applications and communicates each student’s financial aid package. A gift to the Inner-City Scholarship Fund will provide a scholarship award to a low-income student. The average yearly award for an elementary school student is $1,500 and $3,500 for a high school student.
$50,000 – CITY CONNECTS COUNSELING PROGRAM
A gift of $50,000 provides funding for two schools to implement a nationally-recognized program housed at Boston College that connects at-risk children with a set of prevention, intervention, and enrichment services to provide for the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of young people.
$35,000 – HORIZONS FOR HOMELESS PARTNERSHIP
CSF is partnering with Horizons for Homeless Children to provide vulnerable children with an opportunity to improve their lives by attending high-quality Catholic schools. Boston Catholic schools are small community-based schools that promote values and offer a family-oriented atmosphere where children feel safe and are able to experience a consistent and supportive environment. The schools also provide rigorous academic curriculum and enrichment programs. Our partnership with Horizons for Homeless Children serves children in pre-K to 8th grade and is open to students of all faiths.
$20,000 – ENGINEERING IS ELEMENTARY
The Catholic Schools Foundation’s partnership with the Museum of Science can open doors to new experiences beyond the classroom. Through the Museum’s award-winning curriculum, Engineering is Elementary (EiE) is a rigorously researched, classroom-tested curriculum that increases students’ interest in and confidence about engineering. EiE is designed to encourage all children–including those from underrepresented groups–to envision themselves as potential engineers. Developed in conjuncture with scientists, this is a high quality program that meets national as well as Massachusetts state standards.
Your support of $20,000 can integrate EIE into the elementary curriculum of 13 fourth grade classrooms for schools serving high-need populations.
$10,000 – HISPANIC RECRUITMENT INITIATIVE
Your gift of $10,000 provides partial scholarships as well as support for five Hispanic students to be able to continue their Catholic education from elementary school into high school. In many instances, without this “bridge funding” or the assistance families need to navigate the system, students would not be able to enroll and continue their education at Catholic high school.
$5,000 – MADRINAS
