Rising Star: Victor Rivera
June 1st, 2023
Meet Victor Rivera, a Senior from St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, MA.
This year, Victor was awarded the Xaverian Award from St. John's Prep, the highest award that the school can bestow. Each year, during their graduation commencement ceremony, St. John's Preparatory School bestows the Xaverian Award upon a deserving member of its graduating class. This prestigious accolade recognizes a graduate who embodies the spiritual values of Xaverian education, such as compassion, humility, trust, simplicity, and zeal. The recipient is an individual who has selflessly contributed their talents to the Prep community, empowering their peers and faculty to discover God's presence in the ordinary, everyday experiences of life. The Xaverian Award holds the highest distinction within St. John's Prep, and the recipient is carefully nominated by fellow graduates, faculty, and staff, and ultimately chosen by the administration.
Victor has been actively involved in various programs offered at St. John's. His dedication spans across Campus Ministry, Mock Trial, Spire Society, and rigorous academics. On top of his expansive dedications, Victor has earned recognition as a leader among his peers. Victor has demonstrated unwavering resilience in the face of adversity and is universally known for greeting everyone with kindness and a warm smile.
Even without having been a student in one particular faculty member's class, Victor left a lasting impression as a genuinely kind-hearted person. When the opportunity finally arose to teach them, the faculty member's initial impression was reinforced by witnessing their exceptional character. The graduating class acknowledges this individual as a servant leader, finding inspiration in their commitment to both academic excellence and service.
One of their teachers aptly remarked:
"His actions and commitments on campus have earned him universal respect, as he is held in equally high regard by both faculty and students as both groups understand how much they can learn from him. Through a blend of diligence and collaborative skills he has embraced leadership roles and met with success in many endeavors at St. John’s."
As the recipient of the 2023 Xaverian Award, Victor embodies humility, sincerity, compassion, service, leadership, and excellence. As one of our CSF Scholars, we are BEYOND PROUD of his accomplishments!
