Celebrating Promise and Potential: 2025 GO & Inspiration Scholar Breakfast

Last Thursday, the Catholic Schools Foundation (CSF) proudly hosted our annual GO & Inspiration Scholar Breakfast, a morning dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary promise and potential of our high school scholars.

The Guaranteeing Opportunities (GO) Program and the High School Inspiration Scholarship Program were both created to ensure that talented and deserving students have access to the life-changing gift of a Catholic education.

Through the GO Program, one student from each CSF Sponsored Elementary School is selected by their school leader to receive tuition assistance for a Catholic high school within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston (RCAB). The Inspiration Scholarship Program, meanwhile, provides up to 20 merit- and need-based scholarships to high-performing eighth graders accepted at select Catholic high schools across the Archdiocese.

This year’s breakfast brought together scholars, donors, and board members from across the region, representing schools including Arlington Catholic, BC High, Bishop Fenwick, Cardinal Spellman, Cathedral, Central Catholic, Fontbonne, Malden Catholic, Newton Country Day School, Notre Dame Academy, St. John’s Prep, St. Mary’s, and Ursuline Academy.

Throughout the morning, one message echoed clearly from every student we spoke with—gratitude. Gratitude for the education that challenges them, the community that supports them, and the faith that guides their journeys.

One of the morning’s highlights was hearing from Catherine Egan, a senior at Fontbonne and proud Inspiration Scholar. Catherine spoke eloquently about what this scholarship has meant to her:

“To me, being an Inspiration Scholar has meant opportunity and potential. I’ve been given the chance to grow and learn not only academically, but also in my faith and character. This scholarship reminds me that others believe in me and my dreams, which motivates me to work harder and trust in God’s plan for me.”

Catherine shared that, thanks to the support of CSF donors, she has been able to take college-level courses through Fontbonne’s dual enrollment program with Regis College. These opportunities, she said, have strengthened her confidence as she prepares to pursue a degree in nursing.

Her words reflected a sentiment shared by many of the students in attendance: that faith, opportunity, and education are deeply connected and that the belief of others can spark the courage to aim higher.

The breakfast also recognized this year’s GO Scholar Seniors and Inspiration Scholar Seniors, who joined together with Board Members and Donors to celebrate their achievements and share their goals for the future.

We are deeply grateful to our donors, board members, and school leaders for making mornings like this possible. Your generosity not only funds scholarships it builds futures, strengthens faith, and ensures that every student has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

As Catherine reminded us so beautifully:

“This scholarship reminds me that others believe in me and my dreams, which motivates me to work harder. I am extremely grateful to be a part of a community that supports both faith and education.”

Together, we continue to create opportunities, inspire confidence, and celebrate the bright future of Catholic education.
