The Power of Possibility: How Your Support Transforms Lives Through the Inspiration Scholarship
For the past five years, the Catholic Schools Foundation (CSF) has honored a select group of five remarkable students with the High School Inspiration Scholarship, a four-year, merit- and need-based award that opens the door to a Catholic high school education. These students represent the best of what’s possible when talent, determination, and generosity come together.
Each Inspiration Scholar carries a story that reminds us why the gift of education is one of the most powerful gifts anyone can give.
Take Chelsea from Lawrence Catholic Academy, who leads with both heart and humility. She’s known for her kindness and quiet strength, always ready to lend a hand, encourage a classmate, or help organize a school event. Her teachers describe her as someone who lifts others up—a true reflection of the values at the core of Catholic education. For Chelsea, the Inspiration Scholarship isn’t just recognition—it’s motivation to keep striving toward her dream of becoming a pediatrician and helping others through compassion and care.
Then there’s Gianelle from Sacred Heart School in Roslindale, whose creativity and determination shine through everything she does. Whether she’s dancing, leading in STEM projects, or mentoring new students, her confidence and work ethic inspire everyone around her. She dreams of pursuing a future in music, performing arts, or sports management—fields where her leadership and dedication will undoubtedly make an impact. The scholarship she’s earned gives her the opportunity to grow her gifts and discover her full potential.
Nesta, who came to Malden from Kenya, brings light and faith to every space he enters. A talented soccer player and choir member, Nesta embodies resilience and gratitude. His journey reminds us how transformative opportunity can be—how the right support can help a young person thrive in a new country, a new school, and a new community. Through his scholarship, Nesta is continuing to pursue both academic excellence and his deep sense of purpose, guided by faith and a desire to give back.
Esiah from Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy in Dorchester stands out for her intellect, leadership, and heart for service. Described by her principal as insightful, resourceful, and astute, she consistently exceeds expectations—both academically and personally. Whether leading her peers as part of Student Council, competing on the Girls Volleyball Team, or engaging in the Authors’ Café and Girls Empowerment Group, Esiah’s curiosity and compassion shine through. Inspired by stories of heritage and perseverance, she values her roots and the lessons passed down through generations. Looking ahead, she hopes to pursue a career in pediatric nursing or sonography—combining her love of science and helping others—and to travel the world giving back to communities in need.
And finally, Violet from East Boston Central Catholic School is a perfect example of courage and curiosity in action. Joining a new school midstream can be daunting, but she quickly excelled—earning honors, leading her classmates, and serving her community with joy. She’s a top student, a leader in her school’s House Program, and a volunteer at her local soup kitchen. With the support of CSF donors, Violet’s potential has space to flourish, and her dreams of growing into a confident, compassionate leader are already coming true.
These scholars—and the many who came before them—remind us that education is more than academics. It’s a doorway to possibility. It’s the confidence to lead, the courage to dream, and the opportunity to serve.
When you give to the Catholic Schools Foundation, you’re not just funding tuition. You’re investing in futures filled with faith, promise, and purpose. You’re helping students like Chelsea, Gianelle, Nesta, Esiah, and Violet take their next steps with confidence—ready to build a brighter world for all.
Because behind every scholarship is a story. And behind every story is someone like you—someone who believes in the power of education to change lives.
